My Story
I came to the United States as a child after my family fled political violence in Peru. America became the place where I grew up, built my life, found my voice, and made nearly every memory I call home.
Years later, Trump’s immigration policies barred me from returning to the United States and separated me from my family. I was forced to rebuild my life abroad, while the people and country I had always considered home remained out of reach.
That experience changed politics for me.
It stopped being something happening on television and became something that could reach into a person’s life, divide a family, and change their future. I learned firsthand that the decisions made by powerful people don’t stay in Washington. They land on real families, often without warning and without mercy.
That’s why I started I’m That Mitch.
I use my platform to challenge political lies, expose abuses of power, defend democracy, and explain how government decisions affect ordinary people. I believe facts matter, cruelty should never be treated as policy, and silence only makes it easier for powerful people to escape accountability.
This shop grew from that same purpose.
The shirts, stickers, gifts, and protest designs here are for people who refuse to look away. They stand against authoritarianism, corruption, war, cruelty, and attacks on immigrants and civil rights. They stand for democracy, equality, accountability, and a country that lives up to the promises it makes.
Every purchase helps support my independent political work, including the research, fact-checking, editing, and time it takes to create the content I share. It also helps me continue building a future while fighting for the day I can return to the United States and reunite with my family.
This is more than merchandise to me.
It’s a way to turn frustration into action, make resistance visible, and remind others that they’re not alone. You may not be able to change everything with a shirt or a sticker, but you can start a conversation. You can make someone think. You can show people what you’re willing to stand for.
Trump’s policies may have kept me from going home, but they didn’t take away my voice.
